Brodway Babies (0-5 Years)
The goal of Broadway Babies is to entertain, educate, and expose children (and adults!) to the magic of Broadway. By giving babies and young children a small tasting of different Broadway shows, we hope to create the next generation of engaged theater-goers.
Our highly developed curriculum was created by company founder, Audrey Kaplan, who also wrote curriculum professionally for the New York City elementary schools. With the help of highly accredited educators and pediatricians, Audrey set out to create the perfect curriculum for children's development from ages 4 months to 5 years. Each class has a custom-tailored curriculum specific to its age-group, focusing on skills that children should be learning at every three months of their growth. The Broadway Babies curriculum also follows the guidelines for testing of the ERB's.
Not only do our age-specific classes ensure that each child is receiving appropriate lessons, they also provide mothers and caregivers with the opportunity to make friends with other adults who have children the same age.
Our Broadway Little Stars (3 & 4 yrs.) and Broadway Stars (4 & 5 yrs.) classes turns the spotlight away from the teachers and lets the children take the stage. These classes are designed to be a child's first real introduction to performing and are equally perfect for those who are already singing all over the house as well as those who feel shy to get up in front of other people. Through theater games, improvisation, singing and dancing, the children will be up on their feet in front of people without even realizing that they're performing! These classes are also great for children with upcoming nursery school interviews--a theater class is a great way to instill confidence, self-esteem, and good listening skills.
